Exporting forecast data

You can export forecast data if needed by using the Export Data button in the Forecast section of the Origin app.

How to export forecast data

  1. Go to the Forecast section by clicking on Forecast from the left navigation panel.

  2. A List of Saved Forecasts will appear on the page.

  3. In the Forecast Name column, click on the forecast that you want to export. You can also search the forecast name in the search bar present over the table.

  4. You'll be directed to a page containing this forecast's details.

  5. Click on the Download button on the top.

  6. You will have three options in the Download drop-down to export the content: PDF Report, XLS Report and XLS Report (Raw Data).

Download PDF Report

  1. Click the PDF Report option from the drop-down menu.

  2. Export PDF pop-up will appear on the screen.

  3. Select the required Sorting by options from the drop-down menu.

  4. Check the box next to Distribute by Funding Sources, if applicable.

  5. Then, click the Export button.

  6. The forecast will get exported in the PDF format.

  7. Click on the link to download the pdf file.

Download XLS Report

The XLS Report format downloads the data in a formatted structure. The data in this format has facilities grouped by location or specific aggregations for some tabs or that are calculated on the origin front.

  1. Click the XLS Report option from the drop-down menu.

  2. Export XLSX pop-up will appear on the screen.

  3. Select the required Sorting by options from the drop-down menu.

  4. Then, click the Export button.

  5. The forecast will get exported in the XLS format.

  6. Click on the link to download the XLS file.

Download XLS Report (Raw Data)

The XLS Report (Raw Data) format downloads the data in an unformatted structure. The data in this format can directly be used to conduct data analysis and can easily be imported it to any other systems.

You can find the following tabs in XLS Reports (Raw Data):

  • General: It shows same data points as XLS Reports but in a simpler column format.

  • Facilities: It lists same data points currently shown in the Facilities sheet for the existing XLS report. But, for each building, its respective Location and Address and Total Replacement/Investment Cost will be shown.

  • Funded Asset Summary: Includes all assets funded across any forecast year, aggregating them into a single view. It also indicates the year each asset was funded and confirms if funds were allocated.

  • Non-Funded Asset Summary: Includes assets that were never funded across the forecast’s lifetime, with the “funds allocated” column always showing “No.”

  • Year-wise Sheet(s): It lists the same data points currently shown in the Year-wise sheet(s) for the existing XLS report. A standalone sheet will be created for each of the years belonging to the given Forecast.

Steps to download the XLS Report (Raw Data):

  1. Click the XLS Report (Raw Data) option from the drop-down menu.

  2. Export XLSX (Raw Data) pop-up will appear on the screen.

  3. Select the required Sorting by options from the drop-down menu.

  4. Then, click the Export button.

  5. The forecast will get exported in the XLSX (Raw Data) format.

  6. Click on the link to download the XLSX file.
